What is UTR?
Tennis Australia has partnered with Universal Tennis to provide Australian players with a tennis rating. A UTR (Universal Tennis Rating) - is a world-wide Competitive Player Profile that reflects a player's current skill level, based on head-to-head match scores. Universal Tennis rates all tennis players around the world in one easy-to-use universal system, using the same 16 point scale.
Universal Tennis is where you can find all pro circuit players - yes, once activated, you will have your own profile amongst the best players in the world!
UTR also means you can enter tournaments easily, and it helps us to do our gradings for club tennis divisions and tournaments with higher accuracy.
All players competing in Australia should have a Competitive Player Profile/UTR to simplify entering Tennis Australia endorsed events and leagues. Whether you play for fun at Dover Square, or end up playing professionally on the global circuit - your Competitive Player Profile will ensure you receive the best playing experience for your level.
Player UTRs Explained:
Singles Rating – reflects player performance from singles matches.
Doubles Rating – reflects player performance from doubles matches.
(P) signifies the player's rating is a ‘Projected’ rating, meaning: that players with fewer than five results in a 12 month period are not yet fully reliable, so they have a “projected” UTR Rating.
If a player has no rating, the player has not played any matches or had a rating in the past year (12 months), or is not registered to access a UTR.
Your UT Rating will help you compete at your level, whatever your aspirations!
